Romero Communities is a small local Charity led by a group of local people, Friends of Romero, which was based in a local church building, St Helens Athersley.
It had previously been managed by Roundhouse Community Partnership which closed. Romero Communities was then constituted in March 2012 registering as a Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee.
Some of our volunteers have been here for many years, so we have a great deal of experience. We don't tell you what you should do: the idea is to give you a range of options to choose from, so that you solve your problems in your own way, based on the very best information we can find.
We keep a friendly atmosphere at Romero Communities as everyone is invited and welcome.
Our volunteers are on hand to be as helpful as they can be and help how they can.
We are focused on getting the best end result we can for whatever issues you may be facing.
If you have an idea for a new activity or service, or if you would like some help to start up a community group yourself, please come and tell us. We would love to hear your idea and help in any way we can. Whether you come to us for help, friendship or fun, we will be delighted to welcome you to the Romero family! Pop in to see us, call us on 01226 770390 (mornings).

If you can’t come to us, we’ll try our best to arrange to visit you at home.
We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities ranging from tea-making to Support & Guidance, and we are always on the look-out for people who can help with fundraising and leadership.
We are especially keen that our future Board members should be local people who work with us as volunteers in our day-to-day activities.
Romero Communities has always benefited from kind donations from friends and supporters. In the past, this money paid for extras such as tea, coffee and biscuits. Now our funding situation is so difficult that we need these donations to pay for more basic things like phone bills, office paper and printer cartridges too.
We are very aware that people have less money to spare these days, so we are more grateful than ever when people still manage to support our work through giving. If you feel you would like to help in this way and you have your bank details handy, please click the Donate button and follow the instructions there to either use PayPal or your card.
You can then choose to make a one-off donation, or perhaps you might consider giving on a regular basis. Thank you very much for your support.
